The children from one of our shelters had the opportunity today to visit the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, where the exhibition “Frida Kahlo – Her Photos” is on display—a collection that offers a glimpse into the life and personality of the famous artist.
As they toured the space, they discovered unknown aspects of Frida: moments of daily life, relationships, travels, but also the hardships that marked her life and ultimately shaped her unique artistic identity. The children heard the stories behind the photographs, learned about Mexico’s cultural environment and its influence on her work, and discussed how art can serve as a form of expression as well as a means of resilience.
The exhibition sparked beautiful conversations about the power of creativity, the value of self-expression, and the courage to transform pain into something bright. For the children, it was more than a visit; it was a journey into a life full of passion, struggle, and inspiration.
