With great pleasure SYNYPARXIS held the traditional event for the cutting of the New Year’s cake, with the aim of celebrating the arrival of the new year together, minors and employees.
This year’s event one of the accommodation centers had pleasant surprises and high attendance. Last year’s winner of MasterChef Greece, Mr. Lefteris Zafeiropoulos, prepared the rich festive meal, having secured through donations all the necessary items, while the presence of the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum Ms. Sofia Vultepsi offered us the opportunity not only to show her around the hospitable premises of our accommodation centers but also to thank her for the enormous effort she and her colleagues make for the hospitality and integration of unaccompanied minor refugees.
At the beginning of the event, the speech was first given by the General Director of SYNYPARXIS, His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. Panteleimon Papasynefakis, who warmly thanked Mrs. Vultepsi for her constant support and appreciation for the work of SYNYPARXIS. He also expressed his warm thanks to Mr. Zafeiropoulos for his significant contribution, emphasizing the value of his act as an example of solidarity. In conclusion, he addressed the refugee children hosted in the accommodation center, encouraging them with words of love and hope so that they can build a secure future in our country.
In her speech, Mrs Voultepsi urged the children to study and work hard for their future, stressing that SYNYPARXIS is always at their side, ready to support them at every step. She spoke warmly about the organization and assured the children that the state will be there to help them as long as they continue their efforts with perseverance. Finally, Mr. Zafeiropoulos, in a moving intervention, spoke about the importance of self-confidence and the power of willpower, calling on the children to believe in their potential and to move forward with courage in society, overcoming every prejudice.
The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts to both the Deputy Minister and Mr. Zafeiropoulos, as a token of gratitude for their presence and valuable contribution. The atmosphere created was warm and full of emotions, highlighting once again the values of solidarity, hospitality and love for unaccompanied minor refugee children. The refugee minors not only had the opportunity to experience our customs and traditions, but also to see in practice that we are all there for them in this new life.
