Participation in the international conference “Welcoming The Stranger: Shaping the Future”
At the international conference “Welcoming The Stranger: Shaping the Future” held in Geneva on June 20-21, 2022, the General Director of Synyparxis, Arch. Panteleimon Papasinefakis, was invited and participated, as the only representative from Greece. The conference held at the premises of the World Council of Churches and was organized by the Lutheran Church, HIAS and Islamic Relief Worldwide and was entitled: Welcoming The Stranger: Shaping the Future. With the participation of representatives of various Churches and organizations around the world, such as the UNCHR, the emerging problems related to the treatment of refugees and their integration worldwide were presented. Child protection, peaceful coexistence, advocacy and access to services were some of the topics of concern to the participants. On behalf of Synyparxis, the General Director stressed the need for love to prevail in a world full of challenges that will never stop. At the same time, he stressed the importance of cooperation and coordinated action that will make a decisive contribution to the elimination of major inequalities from South America to Africa and from Europe to Asia. For us Orthodox Christians, the Word of the Gospel remains the guide of our efforts and our philosophy. Finally, he presented the actions of the Synyparxis but also the methods that we use as a model based on which the best possible help can be achieved to the unaccompanied minor refugee children.
