A special educational experience dedicated to the world of birds of prey took place today at the Diomedes Botanical Garden. Guided by falconer Stavros Athanasiou and his team, the children spent time in nature and came into direct contact with these impressive animals for the first time.
As they observed hawks, owls, and eagles up close, they heard stories about their way of life, habits, and contribution to the balance of the ecosystem. The activity included short demonstrations, discussion, and interaction that helped the children understand not only the biology of birds but also the value of wildlife conservation.
The day ended with enthusiasm, many questions, and the feeling that everyone—young and old—left with a deeper connection to nature and its creatures.
