In honor of World Refugee Day, the COMPASS Specialized Services Center in Athens organized a special event focusing on unaccompanied minors themselves, as part of the COMPASS Program – Complementary Support Mechanism for the National Strategy for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors in Greece.
Children and adolescents participating in the program took part in a series of creative activities designed to enhance expression, cooperation, and a sense of belonging. They had the opportunity to share experiences, collaborate, and enjoy themselves in a friendly and supportive environment.
The day’s program included a screening of photographs taken by the children themselves in the Center’s photography workshop, capturing personal moments, feelings, and experiences. This was followed by a craft workshop, where they created key rings, collages, and small clay objects, using their imagination and creativity.
The event ended with a friendly ping pong tournament, in which everyone was rewarded with symbolic gifts for their effort and team spirit. After the activities, attendees enjoyed refreshments and snacks in a relaxed atmosphere, continuing to get to know each other and exchange experiences.
This initiative highlights the importance of inclusion through art, play, and participation, giving children the opportunity to express themselves, connect, and feel like an active part of the community.
We warmly thank Pizza Fan for its generous sponsorship.
