Since 2020 SYNYPARXIS has expanded its activity in the field of child protection through the creation and operation of shelters for unaccompanied minors.
These Centers operate in accordance with the legislation in force and the standards set by the competent authorities and provide, through experienced and specialized staff, a wide range of services aimed at covering both the basic needs of children (food, housing, education, health) and their psychosocial support for the development of their personality, the preparation for adulthood and autonomy and the facilitation of their smooth social integration.

At present, SYNYPARXIS operates 4 Accommodation Centers (3 in Attica and 1 in Thessaloniki) with a total capacity of 118 unaccompanied minors.
More specifically, these Centers operate under the following programs:

The shelters are financed by the programme “Greek Programme – Migration and Asylum Development Fund”

The regulation establishes the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund, which aims to contribute to the efficient management of migration flows and assist in the implementation, strengthening, and development of the common asylum and migration policies of the European Union (EU).

The regulation that creates the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF) 2021-2027 is one of the numerous regulations introduced by the EU in the domain of freedom, justice, and security. These include:

Regulation (EU) 2021/1148 establishing, as part of the Integrated Border Management Fund, the Instrument for Financial Support for Border Management and Visa Policy (see summary); Regulation (EU) 2021/1149 establishing the Internal Security Fund (see summary).

The fund has four specific objectives:

Strengthening and developing the Common European Asylum System, including its external dimension; Enhancing and developing legal migration to EU member states, promoting integration and social inclusion; Contributing to efforts to address irregular migration and enhancing safe and dignified return and reintegration; Strengthening solidarity and responsibility-sharing among member states.
