Announcement regarding the attack on the shelter

Unfortunately, in these days of love and offering, some people chose to show their worst face with an unprovoked attack against our little guests in a shelter in Thessaloniki. The unnecessary attack last night resulted in the injury of 4 children and the disturbance of all the residents in the shelter as well as material damage to the surrounding area. No one can understand this attack on children who for seven months now have not do anything bad, instead have been joined and embraced by the local community. From the first moment of the attack, all the staff of our Center supported in every way the efforts of the employees of the shelter to restore the calmness and especially the feeling that everyone should feel at home. The reaction of the residents of the area, who in various ways all these months have shown their acceptance and support for the work being done, was moving from the very first moment. Our Center, through our attorney, proceeded with all the legal actions, expressing at the same time the thanks to the police forces, which were addressed from the first moment of the incident. Let us hope that this single event will be the last and all together we will put into practice the Gospel Words and the need for help to every person in need.

P.S. December 26 is the day the Church has dedicated to the refugees
