The underage refugee children hosted by SYNYPARXIS in the shelter in Thessaloniki were visited by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Neapoleos and Stavroupoleos, Mr. Varnavas, along with the Mayor of Oraiokastro, Mr. P. Tsakiris, on the occasion of cutting the New Year’s cake.
Our staff and children welcomed our guests, toured the shelter, and were informed about the work provided by SYNYPARXIS in Thessaloniki.
His Eminence once again expressed his love and support for our organization’s work and wished everyone a good year filled with peace, love, dreams, smiles, and coexistence.
In turn, the honourable Mayor, along with his wishes for a good and creative year, emphasized the excellent work that has been done over the years, resulting in the shelter now being an integral part of the local community and a beacon of peaceful coexistence and integration.
The coordinator of our shelter, Mr. G. Paralikakis, thanked both His Eminence and the Mayor for their presence and constant support for the work of SYNYPARXIS. He conveyed the wishes of His Eminence, our president, Metropolitan of Iliou, Mr. Athenagoras, and our General Director, Arch. Panteleimon Papasynephaki. As a token of gratitude for the presence of our esteemed guests, our children offered handmade gifts to both His Eminence and the Mayor, along with their wishes for a good year.
Finally, after His Eminence distributed the New Year’s cake and gifts to each child individually, he promised to visit the shelter again soon, to dine with the children and talk to them in order to get to know them better.
