Meeting of Metropolitan Ilion Athinagoras with Deputy Minister G. Koumoutsakos
His Eminence Metropolitan of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupolis Mr Athinagoras, President of the S.C. of KSPM-ERP accompanied by the Director arch. Panteleimon Papasynefakis, visited on Wednesday, August 1st his Eminence Alternate Citizen Protection Minister responsible for migration Mr Georgios Koumoutsakos, in order to congratulate him on the assumption his duties.
During the meeting, the President and the Director had the opportunity to present KSPM-ERP’s longstanding and in-depth work in the field of legal and psychosocial support for refugees and migrants, as well as repatriate Greeks migrants.
The Minister, after presenting the ministry’s planning and the main directions of the new Government, expressed his admiration for the important work that the Church of Greece is doing in this field as well. Both sides appeared willing to launch a constructive cooperation in order to successfully and comprehensively respond to the refugee crisis that our country has been experiencing in recent years.
In this context, it was agreed to explore a specific framework of actions, the details of which will be finalized in the near future.
