Memorandum of Cooperation between the AMKE of the Church of Greece, under the name “SYNYPARXIS,” and the nonprofit organization under the name “HELLENIC RED CROSS,” was signed today at noon at the Holy Archbishopric of Athens.
On behalf of “SYNYPARXIS,” Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, President of the Permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, signed the memorandum, and on behalf of the “HELLENIC RED CROSS,” its President, Dr. Antonios Augerinos.
Present at the signing were Metropolitan of Ilion, Acharnes, and Petroupolis, His Eminence Athinagoras, President of the Executive Committee of “SYNYPARXIS”; the General Director, Archimandrite Fr. Panteleimon Papasynephakis, and the General Archiereutic Commissioner, Archimandrite Fr. Iakovos Andriopoulos.
Mr. Augerinos referred to the extensive collaboration that has existed in the past with the Church, emphasizing, “We have achieved a lot and hope for even more. We are and will be together with the Church.” His Beatitude, the Archbishop, also expressed his joy, highlighting the significant work carried out by “SYNYPARXIS” and noting the benefits that will arise from this particular collaboration with the Hellenic Red Cross.
Fr. Panteleimon spoke about the activities in areas of common interest and goals, emphasizing that the purpose is to inform and empower the voluntary movement and provide healthcare coverage and response to urgent incidents through the correct and safe provision of first aid at all kinds of events, such as formal ceremonies, concerts, cultural events, and sports events.
