Following the visit to our country and SYNYPARXIS, the Council of Dutch Churches prepared a report aiming at raising awareness among the Dutch public and the Dutch state of the situation of refugees in Greece. The report, recording the experience of the delegation during the trip to Greece and including recommendations for supporting the work of the Church of Greece and other organisations and institutions in regards with refugees, was delivered to the Committee on Justice and Security of the Dutch Parliament.
The secretary of the Council of Churches Christien Crouwe stressed that the churches in the Netherlands want in this way to once again bring the attention of Dutch politicians to the difficult situation of refugees in Greece. “We see that the Greek Churches do a tremendous job for those in need, but we can not ignore the human suffering of those who are forced to flee.”
