The issue of unaccompanied minors seeking international protection in Europe was presented in the event “Children in Exile” held in Bischwiller, France, on March 8th 2019. The event was organized under the auspices of the Parish of the Orthodox Church of Strasbourg and the Bischwiller city municipality.
KSPM-ERP was represented by mr George Papadimitriou, lawyer and member of the legal team of the organization. In his presentation, mr Papadimitriou referred to the situation of unaccompanied minors in Greece and presented the legal and psychosocial support projects of our organization, focusing especially on activities assisting the specific vulnerable group.
The event included a presentation by Mrs. Francoise Lauritzen, retired member of UNHCR, who talked about UNHCR’s work and actions on unaccompanied minors worldwide as well as at European level.
The event was concluded with a concert by the Greek music ensemble “En Chordais” performing songs for exile and immigration.
The event was repeated on March 9th 2019 in Strasbourg under the auspices of the Parish of the Greek Orthodox Church, the parish of the Catholic Church, the Parish of the Protestant Church, the ACAT organization and the Greek Community of Strasburg.
