Today, on 28-06-2023, the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Ms. Sussana Terstal, visited one of the SYNYPARXIS shelters, accompanied by the First Secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Cees van Beek, and Ms. Giulia Ledda. Upon their arrival at the location, they were welcomed by the General Director of the AMKE SYNYPARXIS, Archimandrite Panteleimon Papasynephefakis, the Director of Programs, Ms. Despoina Georgiadou, and of course, the staff of the specific shelter.
During the tour of the shelter, the General Director spoke to the visitors about the significant work of the Church of Greece through SYNYPARXIS, while they, in turn, expressed their desire to assist in this effort.
After the tour of the shelter, there was a discussion about the challenges and difficulties the staff encounters daily, as well as the joys and satisfaction they all derive from their work. The Ambassador had the opportunity to engage in conversations with some of the unaccompanied minors hosted in the shelter, who eagerly shared their aspirations, dreams, and ambitions.
Specifically, one of our children spoke to her about Greece as “the light that came after darkness,” and shared his dream, which is none other than… the FIFA World Cup!
Before departing, the guests received a religious image (Flight to Egypt) from the General Director, which served as a symbolic gift!
